THANKS TO ALL THE BLACK SHEEP!!! (28 Aug 10)
On behalf of the current Black Sheep I would like to thank all of you who attended the reunion and made it such a great time. We certainly missed those who were unable to make and hope that there will be another opportunity to gather again soon. Speaking of gathering opportunities, I hear there is a 49 FGA reunion up in Albuquerque this October. (I'll put the details that have been given to me under the 49 FGA link above.)
We sure had a great time at the reunion! Starting on night 1 at the Holiday Inn Express we showed Alamogordo that there's never a dull moment when the Black Sheep are in town. Friday was filled with afterburner takeoffs, clay pigeons getting destroyed (some by hitting the ground), filling everyone in on the Black Sheep's latest aircraft, a static display, a heritage fly-over, a Roll Call that just about brought the house down, and a Club Push that DID bring the house down. Saturday's golf tournament (complete with booze cart ambush CAPs) was a true test of strength, endurance (reference Rbush's battle with a rose bush on the 8th hole), and skill (Rotor showed the kids how it's done by connecting with the wooden mallet and winning the tie breaker for his team). The dinner Saturday night was filled with good food, great stories, and excellent singing by the 8 Balls. (THAT is what fighter pilot songs were meant to be!!!)
In addition to the fun we had, one thing was very clear: we are all proud to be BLACK SHEEP! Once a Sheep...ALWAYS A SHEEP!!!
